Teletherapy

Teletherapy, a convenient form of therapy delivered via a live video connection over the Internet, is widely accepted by most insurance plans. Just like an in-office therapy session, your copay, coinsurance, or deductible would apply. To ensure a smooth teletherapy experience, a high-speed internet connection or adequate cell service is essential.

 

Our office takes your privacy seriously. We are HIPAA compliant, and our therapists conduct teletherapy in a quiet, secluded space to ensure utmost confidentiality. We recommend that you also find a quiet, secluded place before logging into the teletherapy platform using your phone or computer. To facilitate this process, we will ask for your email address. This will allow us to send you a link to the client portal, where you can set up your account, complete any required forms, and receive therapy online.

  • What materials do I need?
    A computer, phone, tablet, or another electronic device with internet access and the ability to utilize a camera. You will also need to access your patient portal for our practice. You will also need to inform your provider of the state (location) you will be in before your session. Providers can only provide service to patients when they are licensed in the state the patient is in at the time of service.
  • How can I fix connectivity issues that I am experiencing during my teletherapy appointment?

  • What about my insurance?
    Most insurance companies now consider teletherapy to be a covered service. However, a quick call to your insurance company can ensure that this treatment method is covered.
  • What is teletherapy?
    Teletherapy is defined as the delivery and facilitation of health and health-related services via digital communications.
  • What if I prefer to be face-to-face with my provider?
    We utilize our patient portal, Simple Practice, to perform teletherapy services. This portal allows you to talk to your provider through a video platform. This video platform allows you to see and talk to your provider without being in the office.
  • What does this mean for me?
    At Premier Wellness Healthcare, we utilize teletherapy to efficiently provide mental health services during severe weather and/or at the convenience of our patients.
  • What are the benefits to me, the patient?
    You can do this from the comfort of your own home. You save time and gas! You don’t have to pay or search for parking Providers can provide more flexible hours.

  • Do you have anyone to prescribe medication?
    Unfortunately, we do not have a psychiatrist on staff at this time.

  • Does my insurance cover therapy and how much will it cost?
    This depends on your insurance and insurance plan. Most insurances do cover mental health treatment, however, you would want to contact your insurance to verify this. You will also want to consult your insurance to determine how much you would owe as your insurance determines your benefits.
  • Are you accepting new patients at this time?
    Yes, we are accepting new patients at this time!
  • What is an FAQ section?
    An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions about your business like "Where do you ship to?", "What are your opening hours?", or "How can I book a service?".
  • What insurance(s) do you accept?
    Beacon Health Options Blue Cross Blue Shield/CareFirst PPO/HMO Cigna GEHA Johns Hopkins Healthcare Magellan Maryland Medicaid Maryland Medicare Tricare United Behavioral Health - HMO plans require a referral from your PCP. University of Maryland Health Advantage ​ Colin Simms is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CareFirst, Cigna, Optum Behavioral Health, and United Behavioral Health.​ Amanda Jones is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CareFirst, Cigna, Optum Behavioral Health, and United Healthcare. PWH is NOT accepting Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).

    Yes! After a rough day, seeking support from one of our qualified and confidential providers can be beneficial. Even a single session of therapy can provide validation, coping strategies, and a space to process emotions without judgment, helping you navigate difficult times more effectively.
