Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Services for children and teens
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation
We begin with a thorough evaluation that may include:
-
Clinical interview with the child/teen and caregivers
-
Review of prior records (school reports, testing, previous treatment)
-
Screening tools or questionnaires
-
Collaboration with schools or other providers (with your consent)
From there, we develop a personalized treatment plan with clear goals and options.
Growing up is hard enough. When anxiety, mood changes, attention challenges, or big life stressors show up, kids and teens—and their parents—deserve calm, clear, compassionate support.
At Premier Wellness Healthcare, we provide integrative, evidence-based mental health care for children and adolescents, tailored to their developmental stage, family context, and unique strengths.
We partner closely with families, schools, and pediatric providers across Maryland to support emotional wellness, learning, and healthy relationships.
Child & Adolescent Mental Health | Premier Wellness Healthcare
Mental health is influenced by biology, environment, relationships, sleep, nutrition, movement, and stress. When appropriate, we consider:
-
Medical and developmental history
-
School environment and learning needs
-
Family dynamics and stressors
-
Lifestyle factors (sleep, screen time, routines, physical activity)
We collaborate with pediatricians, primary care, and other specialists to create a cohesive plan.
Integrative, whole-person focus
-
Developmentally informed, relationship-centered care
-
Children and teens are not “small adults.” Their brains, bodies, and relationships are still developing, so our care is:
-
Developmentally tailored: We adjust how we talk, what we ask, and how we plan care based on age and stage.
-
Family-inclusive: Parents and caregivers are essential partners. We support you with education, coaching, and clear communication.
-
Strength-based: We focus on what’s going well, not just what’s hard, and build on existing skills and interests.
